Learn everything you need to know about Nationwide Autoprotect in one place. From plan details and repair coverage to the claims process and payment questions, our team is ready to guide you so you can choose with confidence.

How does a vehicle service contract help with repair costs?

If a covered component experiences a qualifying breakdown after the applicable waiting period, the contract administrator will review the repair request according to the written agreement. Customers remain responsible for the applicable deductible and any repairs, parts, labor, maintenance, or conditions that are not covered. Preauthorization may be required before repairs begin.

What is a vehicle service contract?

A vehicle service contract is an optional agreement that may help pay for certain covered mechanical repairs after the applicable waiting period. Coverage, benefits, deductibles, limitations and exclusions depend on the selected contract. A vehicle service contract is not a manufacturer’s warranty or automobile insurance.

Which states are excluded?

Nationwide Autoprotect LLC does not currently offer vehicle service contracts to residents of:

  • California

  • Alaska

  • Washington State

Availability may also depend on the customer’s vehicle, location, eligibility and the selected third-party provider.

Is this a manufacturer’s warranty?

No. Vehicle service contracts sold by Nationwide Autoprotect LLC are not manufacturer warranties and are not provided or endorsed by a vehicle manufacturer or dealership. Nationwide Autoprotect LLC is also not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company or any of its affiliates.

When does coverage begin?

Coverage begins after the waiting period stated in the customer’s written vehicle service contract has been satisfied. Waiting periods may include both time and mileage requirements. Coverage does not apply to breakdowns, conditions or repairs occurring before the waiting period has been completed.

Are deductibles required?

A deductible may apply to an approved covered repair. Deductible amounts vary by contract and coverage option. The applicable deductible will be disclosed before enrollment and listed in the customer’s written agreement.

How are repair claims handled?

Claims are reviewed and administered by the third-party administrator identified in the customer’s written agreement. Before repairs begin, the customer or repair facility should contact the administrator and follow its claims procedures. Repairs performed without required authorization may not be covered.

Can I use my preferred repair facility?

Many contracts allow customers to use an authorized dealership or qualified licensed repair facility. Repair-facility requirements vary by administrator and contract. Customers should contact their contract administrator before authorizing diagnosis or repairs to confirm eligibility and obtain required approval.

How do I request cancellation?

To request cancellation assistance, call Nationwide Autoprotect LLC at (800) 988-5317 or email support@nationwideautoprotect.com. You may be asked to provide your full name, contact information, vehicle identification number, current mileage and requested cancellation date. A signed cancellation form, odometer statement or other documentation may be required. Cancellation eligibility, fees and refund calculations are governed by the written contract and applicable law.

Do all contracts include the same benefits?

No. Coverage, benefits, component eligibility, deductibles, waiting periods, limits and exclusions vary by vehicle and contract. Roadside assistance, towing, rental-car reimbursement and maintenance benefits are not included with every option. Customers should review the written agreement for complete details.

Is Nationwide Autoprotect the administrator or obligor?

No. Nationwide Autoprotect LLC is an independent seller of vehicle service contracts. We are not the administrator, obligor or insurer. The administrator and obligor responsible for the contract are identified in the customer’s written agreement.
